DIRECTIONS FROM NAVY PIER TO LINCOLN PARK ZOO (2.1 miles/3.4km)

You have several options to travel to Lincoln Park Zoo from Navy Pier

  • Taxi: This ride should only take about 10 minutes, and may cost around $15, including tip.
     
  • Rideshare: Ride-sharing services such as Uber and Lyft can provide transport within Chicago. Please see below for information and guidelines on each service’s policies and pick-up locations:
  • Bus (about 30 minutes)
    • Take the #29 towards 95th Red Line, exit at Grand and St. Clair. Walk to Michigan and Ontario. Take the #151 towards Devon/Clark. Exit on Stockton and Webster, and you will see the West Entrance to Lincoln Park Zoo.
    • OR, from the Navy Pier Terminal take the #66 towards Austin, exit at Chicago and Michigan. Walk north on Michigan to Chestnut and get on the #151 at Michigan and Chestnut. Exit the #151 at Stockton and Webster, and you will see the West Entrance to Lincoln Park Zoo
    • OR, walk to or take the #65 towards Harlem, and exit at Dearborn and Grand. Take the #22 towards Howard. Exit at Clark and Webster, and walk east to the West Entrance to Lincoln Park Zoo.
       
  • Drive
    • Lincoln Park Zoo is located just off Lake Shore Drive at the Fullerton Parkway exit, just minutes north of downtown Chicago.
    • Entrance to the zoo parking lot is at the intersection of Fullerton Parkway and Cannon Drive.  When you arrive, pull a ticket at the gate and save it. Parking is charged on an hourly basis but there is no charge for less than 30 minutes in the parking lot.
       
  • Walk (about 40 minutes)
    • There is a lovely bike/running trail that connects Navy Pier to Lincoln Park Zoo along Lake Michigan. The directions below are a useful guide, but when you near the zoo, it might be easiest to ask passerby to point you towards the zoo proper (as the whole area is known as “Lincoln Park.”
    • Head north toward E Grand Ave
    • Turn left onto E Grand Ave
    • Turn right toward E Ohio St
    • Slight right onto E Ohio St
    • Turn right toward Lakefront Trail
    • Once you find yourself on the Lakefront trail, continue north: eventually you will pass an area with outdoor chess boards to the left, and then a permanent boat/restaurant on the lake to your right.
    • Keep an eye out for the pedestrian bridge over Lakeshore Drive to your left, a short distance after the boat.
    • Cross the bridge and turn right – you should find yourself at the south end of the Lincoln Park Zoo parking lot.
    • Walk north through the parking lot until you reach the East Entrance to Lincoln Park Zoo.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT (BUS) DIRECTIONS FROM THE CONFERENCE HOTELS TO LINCOLN PARK ZOO (2.0 miles/3.4km)

  • Sheraton Grand Hotel
    • Walk west from the hotel along the north side of the river towards Michigan Avenue. Take the #151 bus from Michigan and Hubbard (directly outside of the Tribune Building) to Stockton and Webster, and you will see the West Entrance to Lincoln Park Zoo.
       
  • Hyatt Regency Hotel
    • Walk west from the hotel along Upper Wacker Drive (following the south shore of the river) towards Michigan Avenue. Take the #151 bus from Michigan (Lower) and E.Wacker to Stockton and Webster, and you will see the West Entrance to Lincoln Park Zoo.
  • Intercontinental Chicago Magnificent Mile Hotel
    • Take the #151 bus from Michigan and Hubbard (directly outside of the Tribune Building) to Stockton and Webster, and you will see the West Entrance to Lincoln Park Zoo.
